Gema Briones es un directora de fotografía Ibicenca establecida entre Barcelona, Madrid o donde el trabajo le lleve. Graduada como Directora de fotografía por la ESCAC.
Como Directora de Fotografía combina ficción con documental y la publicidad, participando también como operadora y/o DoP de 2a unidad en series de TV y publicidad como “Atrapa un Ladrón” “El ministerio del tiempo”“BMW” “Audi” “Decathlon”.
Su estilo visual es versátil usando la luz como fuente de inspiración y forma de comunicación, puede variar desde la utilización de la belleza de la iluminación naturalista, las sombras profundas, hasta la moda estilizada o los colores funky, todo dependiendo de cada proyecto y sus requisitos.
A Gema le encanta contar historias y quiere que el mundo visual sea fiel a la historia, ya sea un documental o una película de fantasía colorida. A ella le gusta el desafío de encontrar el equilibrio perfecto entre mostrar lo que realmente hay, pero al mismo tiempo deja espacio para la imaginación.

Gema Briones is an Ibizan Director of photography, graduated from ESCAC as Director of photography. She mainly works in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia or wherever the job takes her.
As a DOP she has worked in fiction, documentaries and advertising. She also is a 2nd unit camera/DoP TV series and adverts such as “Atrapa un Ladrón” (Catch a thief), “El Ministerio del tiempo” (The Ministry of Time), “BMW” or “Decathlon”.
Her very versatile visual style is achieved using light as a source of inspiration and giving it meaning. This creative ability opens up a multitude of possibilities and nuances from subtle naturalist illumination to the materialization of deep shadows: from the stylish light of fashion to the contrast of color.
Her priority is to adapt to the demands of each project be it a documentary, a work of fiction or any other type.
For her the challenge consists in being true to the style of each project and achieving a level of balance between the objective illumination of the precise scene and the subtle significative contribution of light.
