Video Games-XR professionals take over in the third session of the "II RAMPA professional meeting on the audiovisual industry"

RAMPA wants to support the professionals who work and will work in the Video Games-XR sector with one of the most awaited sessions for young women who are starting their career in this audiovisual field, still mostly male.
In this free session, Mercedes Rey Cuadrado, director of institutional relations at the University Centre of Technology and Digital Art U-tad, will share with us her knowledge after years of experience in management positions in different companies in the video game industry. The second participating expert is Isi Cano, member of the representative body of the association FemDevs: Association of Women Video Game Developers, who will talk to us about the need to create safe, non-mixed spaces in the video game sector.

Mercedes Rey Cuadrado began her career in the world of video games in 1992 as product manager at Proein, becoming general manager in 1999, after the international launch of the video game Commandos in 1998. At Proein, as head of the company, she signed exclusive distribution agreements with companies such as Eidos, Square Enix, Capcom, Activision, Take2, 2K, Codemasters, etc.
In 2008, he joined Ilion Animation Studios and Pyro Studios, working as COO on projects such as the animated film Planet 51, which opened the doors to animation in Spain. In addition, Planet 51 won the Goya for Best Animated Film in 2010.
In 2013 he moved to his current position at U-tad, which has become the university centre of reference in Spain for the study of careers related to the digital industry. Since 2021 he has been vice-president of Pixel Cluster Madrid, an association focused on the industrial and technological development of the Animation and VFX sector.
Isi Cano Pérez, who is participating in the conference at the proposal of FemDevs (Association of Women Video Game Developers), is an expert in video game development, multimedia design and robotics, subjects on which she also provides training. She also coordinates the Girls Make Games workshops in Spain. UX designer and illustrator, she is researching the influence of 20th century avant-garde art on videogames in her doctoral thesis.
Creator of videoludic pictorial projects such as De la pantalla al lienzo: una mirada pictórica a los videojuegos, Pixel to life and Painting Japan Square, she currently directs a section on retro videogames in the podcast Terebi Magazine.
