RAMPA is an online platform created in 2020 by Films by Women Madrid Festival, with a grant from the Dirección General de Industrias Culturales del Ministerio de Educación y Cultura and promoted by Instituto de la Mujer y para la Igualdad de Oportunidades del Ministerio de Igualdad . Since that date, it has been managed and maintained by Limbo Producciones S.L. and Asociación Paracultural.

Carlota Álvarez Basso (Vigo, 1964), a cultural manager for over 32 years specializing in contemporary creation, holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Nanterre (Paris X). From 1992 to 1999 she directed the Department of Audiovisual Works of Art at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, where she currently works as Head of Institutional Relations since 2018. From 2000-2005 she was founding director of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Vigo and from 2005-2008 she was Project Director of the Sociedad Estatal de Conmemoraciones Culturales.
From 2008 to 2011 she directed Cordoba's candidacy for the European Capital of Culture. In 2012 she was Director General of Cultural Planning at Madrid City Council, where she drafted the PECAM 2013-2020 (Strategic Plan for Culture of Madrid City Council). Between 2013-2017 she was director of Matadero Madrid, Centro de Creación Contemporánea.
In 2018, she was elected Top 100 Women Leaders of Spain in the Culture category. That same year, she launched the Festival de Cine por Mujeres, with more than 20 venues in the centre of Madrid and an average participation of 60 feature films in each edition. In 2020, she co-founded and launched the digital platform RAMPA, Red Abierta de Mujeres Profesionales del Audiovisual.
