Call for Applications, Guidelines, and Registration Form

The Madrid Industry Forum: Matchmaking Sessions 2025, organized by RAMPA, Red Abierta de Mujeres Profesionales del Audiovisual, and the Festival Cine por Mujeres Madrid, is an event focused on strengthening the professionalization and internationalization of Spanish women filmmakers. This event will include two days of networking, on April 10 and 11 2025, at Sala Alcalá 31, featuring project presentations to key industry figures such as sales agents, distributors, producers, and festival programmers. This professional event is made possible thanks to a grant from the Dirección General de Industrias Culturales del Ministerio de Cultura; the collaboration of the Comunidad de Madridand the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Spain; the companies Music Library & SFXRC Service, and Subtitula'M; and various professional associations such as AMA(Asociación Madrileña Audiovisual), CIMA (Asociación de Mujeres Cineastas y de Medios Audiovisuales), and MIA (Mujeres en la Industria de la Animación), among others.

The forum is exclusively aimed at directors of Spanish nationality or residents in Spain, regardless of their experience or age. Participating projects must be feature films in an advanced stage of development, known as Work in Progress (WIP), and must include material that has already been filmed or produced. Additionally, only one project per participant is allowed, which must be registered with Intellectual Property and presented in both English and Spanish. The call will be open from January 3 to February 15 2025.

The selection process will involve a committee of experts who will choose a maximum of six projects based on technical and creative criteria. The selected participants must attend the event and present their work in English. The main activities of the forum will include pitching sessions on April 10, where teams will present their projects to producers, distributors, and sales agents in a format that includes the screening of audiovisual materials. In the afternoon, one-on-one meetings between participants and attending professionals will be organized. On April 11, an open-access and free-of-charge day, a masterclass will be delivered by a guest expert, and an award ceremony will also take place. The awards consist of valuable resources for the selected projects, such as access to catalog music for the director's next production, discounts on film equipment rentals, and the creation of a subtitled DCP. Some professional associations will also offer memberships and additional benefits.

To participate, interested individuals must complete a form that includes technical details of the project, biographies of the directors and producers, a synopsis in Spanish and English, and a link to the rough cut or demo of the feature film, among other requirements.
